Datawind, the Canadian firm known for its Aakash tablets has launched its two new budget smartphones, Datawind PocketSurfer 2G4 & PocketSurfer 3G4 in India. Datawind has also partnered with RCom to offer free unlimited data with the devices for one year which includes web browsing, email and social networking. The dual-SIM DataWind PocketSurfer 2G4 under the hood, packs a 1 GHz Cortex A5 processor coupled with 256 MB of RAM. Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, it features a 3.5 inch capacitive display with 480 x 320 pixels resolution.
The PocketSurfer 2G4 houses 512 MB of inbuilt storage. It sports a VGA rear camera and lacks a front facing camera. The handset comes with 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options.
The DataWind PocketSurfer 3G4 is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor coupled with 256 MB of RAM. The dual-SIM handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat and features a 4 inch capacitive display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. Other specifications of the device include 512 MB of inbuilt storage, 5 mega pixel rear camera with an LED flash and VGA front facing camera. PocketSurfer 3G4 offers 3G connectivity besides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options.

The Datawind PocketSurfer 2G4 & PocketSurfer 3G4 smartphones are priced at Rs.1,999 and Rs. 2,999 respectively. Both the handsets are now available on Naaptol shopping platforms and will go on sale through offline stores starting March 24.
