CES 2020 – Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2-in-1 Launched With Built-In Stylus

With a 9.9mm thickness, the 2-in-1 convertible is touted to be Samsung’s thinnest Chromebook by Samsung. Also, it weighs just 1.04kg.

The lightweight laptop is also the company’s first Chromebook with a 4K AMOLED display. Also, HDR400 support (along with Ambient EQ capabilities) will be introduced later in the year (via a software update).

The new 2-in-1 convertible is powered by the 10th Generation Intel Core processor along with Intel UHD graphics and up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is backed by a 49.2Wh battery. It comes with up to 1TB SSD storage.

Samsung has added two cameras on the laptop. This includes a 1MP camera above the display and an 8MP on the deck of the keyboard.

The 2-in-1 convertible runs the Chrome OS and supports Google Assistant. Also, Google Drive backup allows syncing across Android devices and the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook also comes with a built-in stylus and fingerprint recognition. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), two USB Type-C ports, and a UFS/microSD combo.

For audio, the laptop is equipped with 2W stereo speakers, internal digital dual-array mic, and mono mic.

Design & Display

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook features a 13.3-inch 4K AMOLED touchscreen display ( (3840 x 2160 pixels). It also comes with and a backlit keyboard.

The new thin and light laptop is built using durable aluminum. It measures 302.6 x 203.2 x 9.9mm and weighs only 1.04 kgs.

The 2-in-1 convertible features a flexible 360-degree hinge. It can be used in four modes – tent, flat, laptop, and tablet.

Price and Availability

Price $999.99 (approx Rs 71,800)

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is priced at $999.99 (approx Rs 71,800). It will be available in Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray color options. Sales start in the first quarter of 2020.
