The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G Aluminium edition is priced in India is set at Rs 28,490. It comes in Aqua Black, Cloud Silver, and Pink Gold color options. Sales start on July 11.

The new Aluminum Edition model is Samsung’s first smartwatch to be “made in India”. The company has announced that the entire range of Galaxy smartwatches will now be made in India.

“With Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G, we have also started manufacturing our entire range of 18 smartwatches in India as part of the ‘Make for India’ program,” said Mohandeep Singh, senior vice president at Samsung India mobile business.

The new edition of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 comes with a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ protection and resolution of 360 x 360 pixels.

The full-color Always-On display comes with a rotating touch bezel that turns both clockwise and counter-clockwise to allow you to easily choose your favorite apps.

The One UI comes with My Style color extraction algorithm. It lets you take a photo of your outfit and choose from five different color patterns for your watch face.

The new wearable runs Tizen-based Wearable OS which is compatible with both Android (5.0 or above/ more than 1.5GB RAM) and iPhone (5 and above/ iOS 9.0 or above) devices. Connectivity options include LTE (Optional), Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, and A-GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou.

The 4G variant comes with eSIM connectivity that allows users to make or receive calls directly from the smartwatch. It also provides access to social media apps, without the phone being in the proximity.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is powered by a 1.15GHz dual-core Exynos 9110 processor along with 768MB / 1.5GB (LTE) RAM, and 4GB internal storage. It is backed by 340mAh (44mm) / 247mAh (40mm) battery with WPC-based wireless charging support.

The new wearable can manually track more than 39 workouts. Seven of them are automatically activated (including running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing machine, elliptical machine).

Samsung claims that the new health sensors take faster readings and monitor real-time stress levels through Samsung Health (provides guided meditation programs).

Sensors on the device include Heart Rate Monitor (with 8 Photodiodes), Electrocardiogram (ECG), Accelerometer (measure up to 32g of force), Gyroscope, Barometer, Ambient Light Sensor.

The lightweight aluminum variant comes with a casual Fluoroelastomer (FKM) band, 5ATM + IP68 water resistance rating, and MIL-STD-810G certified for durability.

The Aluminum version comes in Silver Cloud, Aqua Black, and Pink Gold color options with Fluoroelastomer (FKM).
