The new flagship action camera features a new 23.6-megapixel image sensor. It can now record up to 5K 30fps videos and 20-megapixel still pictures.
The GoPro Hero 9 Black is powered by the GP1 processor. It is touted to offer up to 30 percent better battery than the Hero 8 Black.
The action camera features a rugged build. It is waterproof up to 10 meters. The camera also has the foldable mounting fingers and a new front-facing color LCD display.

The GoPro Hero 9 Black comes with HyperSmooth 3.0 that offers improved stabilization. Users can now use Boost mode in all resolutions, including 5K.
A new TimeWarp 3.0 mode lets you slow down your hyper-lapse videos to real-time speed with audio or half speed for a slow-motion effect, by simply tapping the display. A ‘Linear+Horizon Levelling’ offers horizon leveling within the camera itself.
Users will be able to remove the lens cover and swap it with the new Max Lens mod. It offers a much wider field of view, Max HyperSmooth stabilisation, and horizon lock features.
The GoPro Hero 9 Black supports a single micro SD card for storage. There is also a USB Type-C port for charging.

Note
The GoPro Hero 9 Black will be the only updating by the company this year. It will be compatible with GoPro Mods, including a new Max Lens mod.
A new Media Mod for the Hero 9 Black will come in the coming months. It is expected to offer an improved microphone with a foam cover and a weather-resistant design.
