Lava E-Tab Connect Launched In India At Rs. 9499

Lava has been emerging slowly as one of the better performers amidst the Indian and Chinese manufacturers who are crowding the budget tablet, phablet and smartphone game with each passing day. And in an attempt to further improve its grasp over the segment, Lava has launched their first ever tablet with 3G and voice calling functionality in India. And yes, it is a 7 inch tablet. The screen has a resolution of 800×480 pixels and it will sell for Rs. 9,499.

The Lava E-Tab connect has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A ARM Cortex A5 processor which will take care of the processing department and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. But yes the highlight is the SIM card slot which will help you use 3G on the tablet and also make calls. There’s a primary camera for clicking pictures with a 2.0 megapixel resolution and the secondary camera has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels which will come in handy for video-calling.

WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS help complete the connectivity package in addition to 3G. The multitasking needs will be taken due care of by a 512 MB RAM which we believe is a bit less for the price the tablet commands. It should have been atleast 1 GB. The internal memory stands at 4 GB which can be expanded by upto 32 GB with the help of the microSD card slot. It weighs just 350 grams so carrying it around would not be an issue.

The battery capacity is rated at 3000 mAh which is just fine seeing the price tag. The tablet will come with a lot of pre-loaded content and freebies and the most noticeable out of them is service to stream 6 movies from Hungama.com for free which are worth Rs.1,250. The tablet will find it diificult to make a mark because there are tablets from other manufacturers such as Pantel which offer a better spec-sheet, a newer version of Android and at the same time cost lesser than the Lava offering. But we leave the choice to you. After all, you might have a brand preference as well.
