The Xiaomi says the Mi Mix Alpha will only be available in limited numbers at the end of December. It is priced at CNY 19,999 (approx Rs 2,00,000).

The new smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor along with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The 4,050mAh battery comes with 40W fast charging support.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha sports a triple camera setup with a 108MP Samsung HMX sensor, a 20MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP portrait camera.

The new handset sports a 7.92-inch flexible OLED display comes with a resolution of 2088 x 2250 pixels. There are minimal bezels on the top and bottom.

The flexible display covers almost the entire body. There are no physical side buttons. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Mi Mix Alpha measures 154.38 x 72.3 x 10.4mm and weighs 241 grams. It is made from a combination of titanium alloy, ceramics, and sapphire.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs the company’s customer MIUI Alpha operating system. Connectivity options include 5G support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.

“A brand-new display acoustic technology replaces the traditional earpiece receiver and proximity sensor while the device’s sides are pressure-sensitive and leverage a linear motor to simulate the touch of real buttons,” Xiaomi said in a statement.

The new handset will use AI algorithms to detect which side of the device user is looking at and accordingly show content.
