The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is priced in India at Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model costs Rs 6,999.

The new smartphone comes in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Sunset Red color options. It will be available from September 29 through Flipkart and Mi.com.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and 2GB/ 3GB RAM.

The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB). The new handset is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a 12-megapixel rear camera (Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture).
