The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is priced in India at Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model costs Rs 6,999.
The new smartphone comes in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Sunset Red color options. It will be available from September 29 through Flipkart and Mi.com.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and 2GB/ 3GB RAM.
The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB). The new handset is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a 12-megapixel rear camera (Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture).
For selfies and video calling, it sports an 8-megapixel front camera. Camera features include an AI Portrait Mode and AI Scene Detection.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A runs Android 9 Pie OS with MIUI 10 on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The 6.2-inch TFT display comes with an HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) resolution, a 19:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The new handset measures 156.3 x 75.4 x 9.4mm and weighs 190 grams. The dual-SIM smartphone features a waterdrop notch and a splash-resistant P2i nano-coating.
Additionally, Xiaomi is also working on a Redmi smartphone with large 5,000mAh battery. The upcoming smartphone is rumored to come with a 64-megapixel primary sensor as well. Additional features will include a circular fingerprint sensor, teardrop-shaped display notch, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
According to recent reports and listings, the Redmi Note 8 will be powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor along with 2GB/ 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 512GB).
In terms of optics, the upcoming handset will sport a dual-camera setup on the back (with 12-megapixel primary sensor). Certain reports also hint at a quad-camera set up with a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. For selfies and video calling, it is tipped to come with an 8-megapixel front camera.
The Redmi Note 8 is tipped to feature a 6.2-inch TFT display with HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The 5,000mAh battery is said to come with fast charging support.
