The Finnish company had promised that the Nokia 5 will go on sale in India starting mid-August. Latest reports claim that the new smartphone will go on sale from August 15, coinciding with the Independence Day. It will be available via offline channels. However, it might only be available in selected cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune. Pre-booking for the mid-range smartphone started from July 7 onwards.
