HMD Global is holding an event on October 4, where it is expected to launch the Nokia 7.1 and 7.1 Plus. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price of the upcoming handsets.

As per recent leaks and rumors, the Nokia 7.1 Plus might sport an iPhone-like display notch. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor along with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The upcoming handset is tipped to feature a similar design to the Nokia 6.1 Plus (front and back glass design with a glossy finish). However, it is said to come with an anodized aluminum back panel. A circular fingerprint sensor will be placed on the back alongside a dual camera setup (vertically aligned) with Carl Zeiss optics and Android One branding.

The Nokia 7.1 Plus is tipped to sport a full-HD+ (1080 x 2280pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Previous rumors hinted at a 6.9-inch display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.

There isn’t much information about the Nokia 7.1 as yet. However, it is likely to be a toned down version of the Nokia 7.1 Plus. Both smartphones will be part of Google’s Android One Programme. This means users will receive regular Android version updates along with a stock experience. Both handsets are expected to run the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

HMD Global was also expected to launch Nokia 9 alongside Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 7.1 Plus. However, as per recent reports, the flagship model might be launched at MWC 2019. It is expected to feature an OLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.

HMD Global has already launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus is priced in India at Rs 10,999. It is powered by an octa-core 2.0GHz Helio P60 processor (based on a 12nm process) along with a built-in AI chip and 3GB/4GB RAM. The 32GB/ 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via a micro SD card (up to 256GB).

In terms of optics, the new handset sports a dual camera system on the back. It combines a 13-megapixel primary sensor (with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture) with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The 8-megapixel front camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and AI face unlock feature. The Nokia X5 is backed by a 3060mAh non-removable battery.

The new smartphone sports a 5.86-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) resolution, 2.5D curved glass, and 19:9 aspect ratio. It features an iPhone-like notch on top and overall an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio. The reflective glass panel is present on the front and back.
