The Olympus OM-D E-1 Mark III is the latest iteration in the company’s E-M1 series. It follows the Olympus OM-D E-1 Mark II (launched in 2016).

Alongside the new Starry Sky AF (autofocus), the new camera offers 4K video recording along with high-speed movie recording at 120fps.

The new mirrorless camera features a 20.4-megapixel Live MOS Four Thirds sensor. It is powered by TruePic IX quad-core processor.

Olympus claims that the E-1 Mark III comes with the world’s best 7.5 shutter speed steps. It allows you to achieve high image quality.

The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III features a total of 121-point all-cross-type (phase-detection + contrast-detection AF). It can capture up to 60 fps with AF/AE Lock, or up to 18 fps with AF/AE Continuous Tracking.

The major highlight of the new camera is Starry Sky AF mode for astrophotography. It also comes with a built-in image stabilization system.

The company claims that the users will be able to shoot night skies handheld with wide or standard zoom lenses).

The Olympus OM-D E-1 Mark III sports an IPX1 weather-sealed package (dust, splash, and freeze-proof). It also features a 2.36M dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.0-inch Vari-angle Touch LCD monitor.

The mirrorless camera allows 4K video recording at 30/25/24fps along with OM-Log mode. You also get multi-selector focus point control with the help of a joystick.

Additional features include handheld High Res Shot mode, live ND (neutral density) filter, PRO Capture Lag-Free Electronic Shutter mode, and a 400,000 shot shutter life.

The Olympus OM-D E-1 Mark III is priced in the US at $1,799.99 (approx Rs 1,28,550). Sales will start on February 28.

Additionally, the mirrorless camera can be purchased with a 12-40mm lens kit at $2,499.99 (approx Rs 1,78,520). A 12-100mm lens kit costs $2,899.99 (approx Rs 2,07,100).
