The OnePlus 5 with 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage is priced at Rs 32,999. While the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant costs Rs 37,999. Comparatively, the Pixel XL is currently available at Rs 54,000 onwards. The OnePlus 5 has a huge advantage on Google Pixel XL in this department.

On paper, the OnePlus 5 looks like a more powerful smartphone. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which beats the Snapdragon 821 SoC on Google Pixel XL. Additionally, it comes with 6GB/ 64GB storage and 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variants. Comparatively, the Pixel XL offers only 4GB RAM with an option of 32GB or 128GB internal storage.

The Pixel XL is backed by a slightly bigger 3,450mAh battery than the OnePlus 5 (3,300mAh battery). However, the OnePlus 5 features a more efficient processor and comes with Dash Charging support (faster than Pixel XL’s fast-charging). Both smartphones offer stock Android experience. However, the OnePlus 5 comes with Oxygen OS which brings few additional features.

Camera

The Google Pixel Xl sports a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the other hand, the dual camera on the OnePlus 5 combines a 16-megapixel primary lens (f/1.7 aperture) and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens. It lets you capture sharp images with nice bokeh effects. Design & Display

The OnePlus 5 sports a sleek design which looks similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. The new handset is quite thin at just 7.25mm. It sports a dual camera setup on the back (upper-left corner). On the other hand, the Google Pixel XL uses a hybrid design. It combines glass and metal, which gives it a unique look. The Google device is thicker than OnePlus 5 at 8.5mm.

However, the Google Pixel XL wins in terms of display. It features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440-pixel) resolution. On the other hand, the 5.5-inch AMOLED screen on OnePlus 5 has a full HD (1,920 x 1,080-pixel) resolution.

Verdict

The OnePlus 5 is a more powerful smartphone with a better processor and double RAM option. Additionally, it offers better battery life. However, it lags behind in terms of display.
