Samsung has launched its Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) smartphones in South Korea. Under the hood, the Galaxy J7 (2016) packs a 1.6GHz octa-core processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM. The handset runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1280×720 pixels.

The phone comes with 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. On camera front, it sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. It measures 151.7×76.0x7.8 mm, weighs 169 grams and is backed up by a 3300mAh battery.

The Galaxy J5 (2016), on the other hand, is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and features a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It houses 16GB of inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card.

On camera front, it sports a 13 mega pixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. Backed up by a 3100mAh battery, it measures 145.8×72.3×8.1 mm and weighs 158 grams.

Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) are priced at KRW 363,000 (approximately Rs. 21,100) and KRW 290,000 (approximately Rs. 16,800) respectively. Both smartphones are available to buy in South Korea. There is no word on global roll out of the phones as of now.
