The new tablet is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 429 processor and 2GB RAM. The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB). It is backed by a 5,100mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera. For selfies and video calling, it sports a 2-megapixel front camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 runs Android 9 Pie operating system. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, and USB 2.0. The tablet also supports Galaxy Buds and the 2018 edition of the Gear IconX wireless earbuds.
In terms of design, the new tablet is essentially a smaller version of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1. It sports an 8.0-inch WXGA (1280×800 pixels) TFT display with 16:10 aspect ratio. The dual speakers offer a stereophonic audio experience.
A Kids Home mode offers a child-friendly interface that can be enabled through the Quick Panel. A Family Share feature allows easy sharing of schedules, notes, photos, and reminders.
Additionally, it comes with an IP68 rating (dust and water protection) and a metallic design. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 measures 201.5 x 122.4 x 8.9mm. It comes in Black and Silver color options.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) Wi-Fi-only is priced in India at Rs 9,999. Whereas the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) LTE variant sports a price tag of Rs 11,999.
While the Wi-Fi variant is now available for pre-orders (via Flipkart and Samsung Shop), the LTE variant will hit the market by the end of this month.
