Price and Availability

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 is priced at $399.99 (approx Rs 30,500) for the base model (Intel Pentium Gold processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC storage).

The high-end model (with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD storage) comes with a price tag of $629 (approx Rs 47,970). An integrated LTE variant costs $729 (approx Rs 55,595).

Sales will start on May 12 in select regions. Microsoft is offering Surface Type Covers in multiple colors starting at $99 (approx Rs 7,550).

On the other hand, the 13-inch Surface Book 3 is priced at $1,599 (approx Rs 1,21,940). It comes with a 1.2GHz Core i5 CPU, integrated graphics, 8GB RAM, and 256GB NVMe SSD storage.

The 15-inch model (with up to 1.3GHz Core i7 CPU, GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, 32GB RAM, 2TB NVMe SSD storage) costs $3,399 (approx Rs 2,59,200). Sales start in late May.

As of now, there is no confirmation about the Indian price tag for the Microsoft Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3.

Highlights and Features

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 sports a 10.5-inch display with 3:2 asp[ect ratio and a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels.

The new tablet features a magnesium body with an integrated kickstand. It weighs only 553g.

Additional features include a 5-megapixel webcam, a USB Type-C port, a microSD card slot, dual “studio” microphones, a headphones socket, and Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connector.

On the other hand, Microsoft Surface Book 3 offers up to 17.5 hours of battery life with improved power efficiency in standby.

The premium laptop comes with 10th Gen Intel Ice Lake Core i5/ Core i7 processors. You can also choose discrete Nvidia GeForce GTX or Quadro RTX GPU.

For photos and videos, the Microsoft Surface Book 3 sports an 8MP rear cameras and a 5MP front camera. There are also far-field stereo microphones.

The detachable 2-in-1 comes in 13.5-inch and 15-inch variants. While the 13.5-inch model weighs up to 1.64kg, the 15-inch variant weighs 1.9kg.

Additional features include a fully backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6, two USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port, an SDXC card slot, and two Surface Connect ports.

With the new devices, Microsoft is trying to showcase the capabilities of its hardware and Windows 10 OS. It hopes to offer solutions to people working from homes during the ongoing lockdowns in multiple countries.

The company claims that it wants to serve users no matter where they are and what size of the device they need. The devices will allow people to work, learn, and communicate.

Alongside the Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3, Microsoft also launched the Surface Headphones 2, Surface Earbuds, Surface Dock 2, and USB-C Travel Hub.
