The Tecno Camon 12 Air is priced in India at Rs 9,999. It is being touted as the most affordable smartphone with a ‘Dot in-display.

“Tecno Camon 12 Air is currently holding the crown of bringing the most affordable ‘Dot in-display’ in the offline space,” said Arijeet Talapatra, CEO, Transsion India.

The new smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor and 4GB RAM. The 4,000mAh battery is rated to deliver 12 hours of video playback.

The 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card (up to 256GB).

Cameras

On the back, the Tecno Camon 12 Air sports a triple camera setup. It uses a 16MP primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture), a 2MP secondary sensor (allows 2.5cm macro shots), a 5MP sensor (120-degree wide-angle lens), and a quad-LED flash module.

For selfies and video calling, the handset sports an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an 81-degree wide-angle lens. It also supports the Face Unlock feature.

The Tecno Camon 12 Air runs the Android 10 operating system with HiOS 5.5 on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, and GPS/ A-GPS.

The dual-SIM smartphone features a 6.55-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels) resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a peak brightness of 500 nits.

In terms of dimensions, the Tecno Camon 12 Air measures 164.29 x 76.3 x 8.15mm and weighs 172 grams. It comes in Bay Blue and Stellar Purple color options.

An ‘anti-oil’ fingerprint sensor is rated said to unlock the smartphone in as little as 0.27 seconds. Other sensors on the device include an accelerometer and an ambient light sensor.
