Price and Availability

The Vivo V12 will be launched in India in the first half of 2019. It is expected to be priced under Rs 30,000. The company claims that a second V-series device will be launched in the second half of 2019.

The company hasn’t revealed any specifications of the upcoming handset. However, it is expected to come with an improved in-display fingerprint sensor, an AMOLED screen, and a notch for selfie camera. The company is working with Qualcomm to add 5G support.

“We will be launching something in the first half of 2019 and it will be the successor of the V11 Pro. We have done a very deep collaboration with Qualcomm, and we will be among the first few brands to launch a 5G device. In fact, we are already in advanced stages on the development of a 5G phone, so all the testing is already happening.” said Nipun Marya, Director-Brand strategy, Vivo India.

The Vivo V11 Pro sports a 6.41-inch Halo FullView display with full-HD+ resolution and 91.27 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AiE processor and 6GB RAM. The 64GB internal storage can be further expanded (up to 256GB) via a dedicated microSD card slot.

In terms of optics, the new smartphone features a vertically aligned dual Pixel camera setup (with AI scene recognition) on the back. It combines a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture). The 25-megapixel front camera also comes with AI capabilities and f/2.0 aperture.

In the power department, the handset is backed by a 3,400mAh battery with dual-engine fast charging technology. The Vivo smartphone runs FunTouch OS 4.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It comes with a Game Mode 4.0 for an immersive gaming experience.

The dual-SIM smartphone comes with a waterdrop-style notch on top (similar to the Oppo F9 Pro). However, the physical fingerprint sensor is replaced by an in-display one. Additionally, the new handset comes with a Face unlock feature. The back panel sports a 3D curved back design.

Recently, Vivo announced price cuts (up to Rs 4,000) for multiple smartphones in India. This includes Vivo V9, Vivo Y83, and Vivo X21. The Vivo V9 is now priced at Rs 18,990. It was launched at Rs 22,990. Later, prices were slashed down to Rs 20,990. While the Vivo Y83 costs Rs 13,990 (down from Rs 14,990), the premium Vivo X21 has a new price tag of Rs 31,990 (down from Rs 35,990).The Vivo V11 Pro is an affordable alternative to the company’s Vivo X21 and Vivo Nex devices.
