Both Lava Iris X8 and Yu Yureka are powered by Octa-Core processor with former running with MediaTek (MT6592M) chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz and latter with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G runs on 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. All the three devices are further coupled with 2 GB of RAM. These handsets are efficiently designed and guarantee seamless powerful performance.

Operating System

All the three devices run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, however the highlight of Yu Yureka is its Cyanogen 11 platform which delivers security,  customization and optimized performance to the users. Iris X8 runs on plain Android KitKat while Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G comes optimized with MIUI.


The Iris X8 features a smaller 5 inch display as compared to the 5.5 inch display of the other two handsets. However the display resolution of the three devices is same. They sport HD displays with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Furthermore, Lava Iris X8 comes with Asahi glass protection whereas Yu Yureka flaunts its Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Storage and Camera

Iris X8 and Yu Yureka entail 16 GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card while Redmi Note 4G houses 8 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card.

The Lava Iris X8 lags behind with 8 mega pixel rear camera and 3 mega pixel secondary camera. Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G on the other hand boasts of their 13 mega pixel primary camera and 5 mega pixel front facing camera.

Battery and Connectivity

Yu Yureka and Iris X8 are packed with a 2500 mAh battery while Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G comes with a more powerful 3100 mAh battery.

On connectivity front, all the devices offer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options. Besides, the Yu Yureka and Redmi Note 4G offer 4G LTE connectivity as well. The Lava Iris X8 offers 3G connectivity.


Lava Iris X8 and Yu Yureka are both priced at Rs. 8,999, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G is priced slightly higher. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G is available with a price tag of Rs. 9,999 which is Rs. 1,000 more than the other two handsets.


Lava Iris X8 has joined the war in the Indian smartphone market giving tough competition to its rivals. It is yet to be seen how efficiently it gives run for its money to existing Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G smartphones. All the three devices offer brilliant features in the affordable sub-Rs.10,000 price range. The Lava Iris X8 flaunts its rich configuration with Octa-Core processor and 2 GB RAM, yet it misses out on few fronts like smaller display, absence of 4G connectivity and low camera pixels as compared to the Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note.
