10.or D Budget Smartphone Launched At Start Price of Rs 4,999

After releasing multiple teasers, Amazon has finally launched its 10.or D (pronounced Tenor D) smartphone in India. It comes in two RAM/storage variants. The new handset is part of the company’s Crafted for Amazon programme (includes products made in India and designed for India). Price Rs 4,999 (base model)

The 10.or D is priced in India at Rs 4,999 for the 2GB of RAM/ 16GB internal storage model. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant comes with a price tag of Rs 5,999. Sales start from 12 pm IST on January 5. Registrations for the first sale have already opened. Amazon Prime members will get an additional one-year warranty from the company.

The upcoming smartphone is part of the new ‘Crafted for Amazon’ programme. Under this programme, Amazon ties up with different manufacturers to offer products under its own label. This includes fashion brands such as Myx, Symbol, and home and kitchen brand Solimo. Amazon India has partnered with Shanghai-based Longcheer for the 10.or D smartphone. After sales service will be offered in India by B2X for Longcheer.

The 10.or D features a 5.2-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. The internal storage can be expanded via a microSD card.

On the camera front, the new smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and an LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The new handset is backed by a 3500mAh Li-Po battery that offers up to 2 days of battery life, 70 hours of MP3 playback time, 10 hours of Web browsing, and up to 25 hours of talk time.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with a stock Android UI. The company promises an upgrade to Android Oreo update soon. The 10.or D comes pre-loaded with a bunch of Amazon apps that can be accessed via the single sign-in method. Additional features include Dirac speaker, a fingerprint sensor (unlocks in 0.2 seconds), FM radio, and USB OTG support.

At its price points, the new smartphone will compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A. Previously, the e-commerce giant launched 10.or E and 10.or G handsets at affordable prices. While the 10.or E was launched at Rs 7,999, the 10.or G came with a price tag of Rs 12,999.

The 10.or G sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC along with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The dual camera setup on the back uses two 13-megapixel sensors (Monochrome + RGB sensor) with a dual LED flash. The 16-megapixel front camera comes with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash for selfies. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support.

The 10.or E smartphone also features a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset along with Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB/ 3GB RAM. The budget handset comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
