Earlier Leaks

An ITHome report has revealed some alleged new renders of the handset. The Mi Mix 3 leak images indicate that the smartphone will sport a higher screen-to-body ratio.

According to the Mi Mix 3 leak report, the handset will have a pop-up selfie shooter (like the Vivo Nex). It will also have a LED flash.

The Mi Mix 3 leak also mentions that the device will have thin bezels, and the bottom bezel seems to similar to the other sides. So a chin might be absent. The smartphone will also have a vertical dual-rear camera setup.

Other News

Chinese tech company Vivo’s Nex lineup of handsets are the first smartphones to have a pop-up selfie shooter. The phones also have a near-bezel-free display. There is no display notch and the front camera is hidden. It comes up only when needed. But a video has surfaced which reveals a Vivo Nex camera bug.

The Vivo Nex camera bug video indicates that the pop-selfie front camera appears when a chat window on Telegram is opened. Even when no camera function is attempted.

In regards to the Vivo Nex camera bug issues, many users have mentioned that the camera comes up even while using QQ browser and Ctrip app.

The video was uploaded on Weibo. In the video, we can see the camera popping-up while Telegram is being used. The person in the video opens Telegram, goes to New Message, and then clicks on a contact to open up a new chat. The selfie shooter pops-up as soon as new chat is opened. Once the app is closed, the camera goes back inside.

Many users have reportedly been facing similar problems while using QQ browser, and Ctrip app. In these cases, the camera pops-up only partially.

According to Tencent, the selfie camera doesn’t record anything. This happens due to API being triggered due to QR code canning nature of the browser.
