While there isn’t much information about the upcoming iPad devices, few reports hint at the expected features. As per a Japanese website (Macotakara), Apple is planning to launch two new iPads this year. Previous reports also claimed that Apple is planning to launch a cheaper 9.7-inch iPad.

Apple is expected to launch new iPad models alongside the new iPhone at its keynote event this year. As of now, there is no information about the Indian launch date and price.

While the base model is reported to come with a 10.5-inch display, the high-end version is said to support a 12.9-inch screen. The upcoming devices will feature thin bezels all around. The 10.5-inch iPad model will measure 247.5 x 178.7 x 6mm (down from 250.6 x 174.1 x 6.1mm). Whereas the 12.9-inch variant will measure 280 x 215 x 6.4mm (down from 305.7 x 220.6 x 6.9mm).
Additionally, the company is tipped to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack for the new iPad 2018. The Smart Connectors on the new iPads will be moved to the lower side of the devices.
The Apple iPad 2018 are also expected to sport the iPhone X’s advanced face recognition tech. Users will be able to unlock their iPads by just looking at the screen. So far, the Face ID support was missing from iPad devices.
Overall the upcoming iPad will look a lot like the iPhone X. However, the removal of a 3.5mm headphone jack is not a great news for many users.
