Apple TV+, Apple Arcade Coming To India At Rs 99 per Month – All You Need To Know

Apple has finally launched its streaming service called Apple TV+. The company has also launched a subscription-based video gaming service called Apple Arcade. Price Rs 99 per month

The Apple TV+ will be available in India at Rs 99 per month. It will be available November 1 with a one-week free trial. ‘Family Sharing’ (at no extra charge) allows access to a total of six individuals.

Additionally, you can get a one-year free Apple TV+ subscription with purchase of new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, or iPod touch.

Highlights and Features

The new video streaming service will directly compete with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and the upcoming Disnet+. Apparently, Apple has invested $6 billion (approx Rs 43,040 crores) on Apple TV+ content. This includes multiple series and documentaries.

The flagship content includes the Jason Momoa-starrer drama See, The Morning Show (with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell), Hailee Steinfeld-starrer historical comedy, and the nature documentary The Elephant Queen.

The subscription service is also producing an alt-history sci-fi series For All Mankind by Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore. Several projects from Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, M. Night Shyamalan, Kumail Nanjiani, and Chris Evans are also in production.

Apple Arcade

Price Rs 99 per month

The subscription-based video gaming service also costs Rs 99 per month. It will be available from September 19 with a one-month free trial.

Just like Apple TV+, ‘Family Sharing’ (at no extra charge) allows access to a total of six individuals with supported devices.

Additionally, all Apple Arcade games will have no in-app purchases (in addition to no in-game advertisements).

Apple Arcade will offer more than 100 exclusive games from leading developers and publishers.

This includes the likes of Capcom, Lego, Sega, Konami, Annapurna Interactive, Versus Evil, Revolution Software, Mistwalker, Klei Entertainment, Sumo Digital, Illusion Labs, WayForward Technologies, Snowman, Bossa Studios, Wildboy Studios, Flightless, Yak & Co., Directive Games, Frosty Pop, Picomy, SMG Studio, Cornfox & Bros., Finji, Giant Squid, Shadowplay Studios, Blowfish Studios, RAC7, Revolutionary Concepts, The Game Band, KO_OP, and Breadcrumbs Interactive.

Some of the gaming titles include ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree, Beyond a Steel Sky, The Bradwell Conspiracy, Cardpocalypse, Doomsday Vault, Down in Bermuda, Enter the Construct, Fantasian, Overland, Frogger in Toy Town, Sonic Racing, HitchHiker, Hot Lava, Kings of the Castle, Lego Arthouse, and Lego Brawls.

All gaming titles will be playable offline (without online multiplayer components). Users will also be able to use PS4’s DualShock 4 and Xbox One controllers on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Conclusion

Apple is going all out to diversify its revenue stream. App Store is already the biggest (service) earner for Apple. Now, the Apple Arcade will join the Apple TV+, Apple Music, iTunes purchases, iCloud storage, and Apple Pay.

Apple will also offer subscriptions to other video providers (Apple TV Channels), and a news service (Apple News+).
