Asus has launched a limited edition of its ZenFone 6 smartphone to celebrate its 30th anniversary. It comes with a new design and upgraded specifications. Asus stated that only 3,000 units of the ZenFone 6 Edition 30 smartphone will be available globally. It will come with 30 months warranty. However, the price and exact launch date are yet to be revealed.

The new smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with 12GB RAM (up from 8GB RAM on regular edition). The 512GB internal storage can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot (up to 2TB). The 5,000mAh battery comes with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 standard.
In terms of optics, the Asus ZenFone 6 Edition 30 sports a dual camera setup with a flip design (rotates for self-portraits). It combines a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel secondary sensor (ultra-wide-angle, 125-degree field-of-view).

The Asus ZenFone 6 Edition 30 sports a new design with an embossed Edition 30 logo on the back. It features a 3D-curved glass design with Zen-inspired concentric-circles patterns. The new limited edition comes in a Matte Black color option only.
The new smartphone sports a 6.4-inch IPS display with full-HD+ resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels), a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for protection. Additional features include dual smart amplifiers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Asus ZenFone 6 was originally launched at EUR 499 (approx Rs 39,100) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. While the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model costs EUR 559 (approx Rs 43,800), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of EUR 599 (approx Rs 47,000).
The new handset comes in two color options – Midnight Black and Twilight Silver. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with up to 8GB RAM and Adreno 640 GPU. The 256GB internal storage (UFS 2.1) can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot (up to 2TB). 5,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0 technology.
The new handset sports dual camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.79, laser focus), 13-megapixel secondary sensor (ultra-wide-angle), and a dual-LED flash. Users can even control the amount of rotation to take photos at interesting angles. The camera module automatically retracts to its base position if the sudden movement is detected.
The Asus ZenFone 6 runs Android Pie operating system with Zen UI 6 on top. The company promises an upgrade to Android Q and Android R. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
The dual-SIM smartphone features a 6.4-inch IPS display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 92 percent screen-to-body ratio. It comes with 600 nits peak brightness, and 100 DCI-P3 color gamut.
The handset measures 159.1 x 75.11 x 8.1-9.1mm and weighs 190 grams. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the front. The rear panel features a 3D-curved glass. The dual stereo speakers come with dual smart amplifiers. Additional features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
