Price (base model) Rs 39,999

The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is priced in India at Rs 39,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB internal storage variant. The 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 49,999. It will be available in India from June 4 through Flipkart.

The gaming smartphone Black Shark 2 is priced in China at CNY 3,199 (approx Rs 32,700) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. The top-end model with 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage will be available at CNY 4,199 (approx Rs 42,900).

While the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage model costs CNY 3,499 (approx Rs 35,800), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CNY 3,799 (approx Rs 38,800).

The Black Shark 2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 12GB RAM. Additionally, it comes with Snapdragon Elite Gaming graphics processing technology and a Liquid Cool 3.0 liquid-cooling technology (touted to increase the heat dissipation by 20 times).

The gaming handset comes with 128GB and 256GB internal UFS 2.1 storage options. The dual rear camera setup uses a 48-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.75 aperture) and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.2 aperture). It supports 2x optical zoom.

For selfies and video calling, the handset sports a 20-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.

The Black Shark 2 runs Android 9.0 Pie operating system. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C port.

The dual-SIM smartphone features a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 403ppi. It also comes has 108.9-percent DCI P3 color gamut and a contrast ratio of 60,000:1.

The Black Shark 2 comes with a Magic Press pressure-sensing technology (similar to Apple’s 3D touch) that enables customizes pressure sensitivity on the display to offer enhanced control. The touch response time on the display is low as 43.5 milliseconds.

Additionally, the gaming smartphone sports an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual-frequency GPS. Other sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and magnetometer.

The new handset sports an X-shaped antenna design layout and measures 163.61 x 75.01 x 8.77mm. It comes in Shadow Black and Frozen Silver color options. The stereo audio comes with artificial intelligence (AI)-based noise reduction and anti-howling sound experience.
