Conclusion

With the new Detel D1, BSNL aims to offer super affordable handsets in ‘all the nooks and corners of the country’. The company has partnered with Detel Mobiles (Indian feature phone manufacturer) for the new handset. The new initiative will further propel the company’s ideology ‘to bring communication services in the most cost-effective manner.’

“India is one of the only places in the world where feature phones still outsell smartphones. Such phones are preferred by a large population either due to its price or its inherent simplicity,” said Yogesh Bhatia, MD, S. G. Corporate Mobility (parent company of Detel).
