The Canon EOS R5 is priced in India at Rs 3,39,995 (body only). In the US, it costs $3,899 (approx Rs 2,93,400).

The new mirrorless camera will be available in August through Canon Image Squares and authorized retailers.

The new mirrorless camera features a 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. It is powered by the Digic X image processor.

The Canon EOS R5 has an ISO range of 100 – 51,200 (expandable to ISO 102,400). Users can get continuous shooting at up to 12fps using the mechanical shutter or 20fps with the electronic shutter.

The flagship camera comes with next-generation Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus technology, a 100 percent autofocus coverage area, 1053 AF points, and 5940 manually selectable AF positions.

The Canon EOS R5 features Face Tracking with Eye Detection AF. Users will also be able to use AF Priority mode for people and animals.

The highlight of the new model is the in-body image stabilization that works with the optical image stabilization (OIS) of the lens. It is effective up to 8-stops shutter speed and works with all EF and RF series lenses with IS or non-IS category.

Additionally, the Canon EOS R5 supports up to 8K video recording at 30fps frame rate (with full sensor readout) and 4K videos at 120fps.

Users can record 8K RAW movies internally (without any accessories). File format options include RAW, H.265 HEVC, and H.264 MP4 in either ALL-I or IPB compression.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0 along with Bluetooth Low Energy support, USB Type-C port, HDMI micro port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Canon EOS R5 has dual memory card slots (includes a CFexpress card and an SD card). Canon is also offering cloud storage access (stores content for up to 30 days).

The new camera features a dust and water-resistant design. It comes with a magnesium alloy body and weighs 738 grams (with the battery and an SD card).

Additional features include a vari-angle LCD monitor with touch support, a top LCD panel for quick controls, Multi-controller, and Quick Control Dial.

Additionally, the company has launched Canon EOS R6 with a price tag of Rs 2,15,995 (body only). In the US, it costs $2,499 (approx Rs 1,88,000).

The Canon EOS R6 is also powered by the Digic X image processor and in-body image stabilizer. It comes with a 20.1-megapixel sensor (same as the EOS-1DX Mark III).
