Google is now rolling out Pixel’s Car Crash Detection to India. Read more to find out How To Enable Car Crash Detection Feature On Google Pixel Phone
Google introduced the Car Crash Detection to Pixel phones in 2019. Finally, the search engine giant is bringing the safety feature to India. It will also be available in Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and Portugal.
The Car crash detection feature can detect accidents and alert emergency services automatically. It also shares the location of Pixel users.
To detect a car crash, the new safety feature uses the phone’s location, motion sensors, and nearby sounds. If it detects an accident, the phone vibrates and sounds an alarm at maximum value.
Next, the phone asks if you need any help. If there is no response, your Pixel phone will attempt to contact 112 (pan-India emergency services number) and share your location/ car crash data.
To access the Car Crash Detection feature, all you need is a SIM (connected to a stable mobile network). However, it only works for Pixel 4a devices or newer. You can easily set up the safety feature via the phone’s Personal Safety app.
How To Enable Car Crash Detection Feature On Google Pixel Phone
- Navigate to your Pixel Phone’s Personal Safety app.
- Then, tap Features and scroll to “Car crash detection.”
- Next, tap set up to activate the feature on your phone.
- Now, provide the necessary permissions (location, physical activity, microphone sharing, etc) for the feature to work.
- That’s it!
Note: A Pixel phone might not be able to detect all kinds of car accidents. Also, any high-impact activity like a roller coaster ride could also trigger the crash detection feature.
Recently, Google launched the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro device. Both smartphones come with AI-backed features and camera improvements. While the Pixel 8 price starts at Rs 75,999, the Pixel 8 Pro costs Rs 1,06,999.
