GoPro Hero 8 Black, GoPro Max Action Cameras Launched With HyperSmooth 2.0 Feature

The GoPro Hero 8 Black is priced at Rs 36,500. It will be available on October 20. The mods for the Hero 8 will be available for pre-order in December.

The Light Mod will cost $49.99 (approx Rs 3,540). The Display Mod and a Media Mod are priced at $79.99 (roughly Rs. 5,680).

On the other hand, the GoPro Max is priced at Rs 47,000. It will go on sale on October 24.

Highlights and Features

The GoPro Hero 8 Black features a new frameless design with inbuilt mounting fingers and improved HyperSmooth 2.0 stabilization. There is also the ability to add mods.

The GoPro Max also has foldable mounting finders. It features dual lenses for 360 videos and photos. You can also choose a single lens at a time. Six microphones allow 360-degree audio capture.

The highlight of the GoPro Hero 8 Black is HyperSmooth 2.0 (offers smoother video than the Hero 7 Black). A Boost mode crops the frame a bit more for extra stabilization.

The camera interface allows you to easily switch between different fields of view (‘Digital Lenses’). It creates up to 10 presets for various types of activity.

Additionally, the TimeWarp 2.0 feature lets you vary the speed of the hyperlapse video by simply touching the display. There is also a Horizon Levelling feature for a cinematic effect.

The new action camera features a compact body with a front-facing microphone. The single flap on the right houses the microSD card slot, battery and USB Type-C port.

The GoPro Hero 8 Black is waterproof up to 10m. It can shoot 4K videos up to 60fps, slow motion video at up to 240fps at 1080p. Other features include live streaming and voice control.

The built-in mounting fingers are now built-in. The Display Mod is essentially an external 1.9-inch display that folds in the front or back. The Light Mod helps brighten the scene in low light. It is waterproof up to 10m.

The Media Mod features a built-in shotgun microphone and two cold shoe mounts for a secondary display and LED fill-light. It also has a Type-C port, HDMI port, and 3.5mm jack (for external microphone).

The GoPro Max can be used as a regular GoPro or a 360-degree camera. It can live stream at up to 1080p. You can also shoot up to 5.6K resolution 360-degree videos at 30fps.

The new action camera is waterproof up to 5m. It comes with a built-in GPS. There is also a color display on one side that allows you to frame your shots.

Additional features on the device include TimeWarp and HyperSmooth.
