The Redmi 8 will be launched in India on October 9. It is expected to be priced at Rs 7,999 for the base model (2GB RAM/ 32GB internal storage).

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is priced in India at Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model costs Rs 6,999.

As per recent leaks and reports, the Redmi 8 is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and 3GB RAM. It is likely to run the Android 9 Pie operating system with MIUI on top.

The upcoming smartphone is expected to sport an HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop-shaped notch, and a pixel density of 320ppi.

The Redmi 8 is tipped to come with a splash-resistant build with a gradient finish on the back. It will be available in four color options – Ash, Blue, Green, and Red.

In terms of optics, the upcoming handset is tipped to sport a primary Sony sensor. Camera features will include edge detection and skin tone mapping.

Additionally, the Redmi 8 is expected to come with a large battery pack (more than 4,000mAh).

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and 2GB/ 3GB RAM.

The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB). The new handset is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a 12-megapixel rear camera (Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture).

For selfies and video calling, it sports an 8-megapixel front camera. Camera features include an AI Portrait Mode and AI Scene Detection.

The 6.2-inch TFT display comes with an HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) resolution, a 19:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The dual-SIM smartphone features a waterdrop notch and a splash-resistant P2i nano-coating. It comes in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Sunset Red color options.
