The Huawei MatePad Pro comes with a starting price of CNY 3,299 (approx Rs 33,600) for 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage Wi-Fi only model.

The 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage Wi-Fi only model is priced at CNY 3,999 (approx Rs 40,700).

The 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage and 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage LTE models cost CNY 3,799 (approx Rs 38,700) and CNY 4,499 (approx Rs 45,800).

Additionally, Huawei is offering an optional keyboard cover at CNY 699 (approx Rs 7,100). The M-Pencil is priced at CNY 499 (approx Rs 5,000).

The new tablet is powered by a Huawei Kirin 990 processor along with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage (expandable via Huawei’s proprietary NM standard).

The Huawei MatePad Pro is backed by a 7,250mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. It also supports 15W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

Camera

The new tablet sports a 13MP rear camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and phase detection autofocus system (PDAF). It can record up to 4K resolution videos.

For selfies and video calling, the Huawei MatePad Pro sports an 8MP front camera. It can record up to Full HD (1080p) video recording. Shooting modes include slow-motion, timelapse, and subject tracking.

The new tablet sports a 10.8-inch display with QHD+ (1600 x 2560 pixels) resolution and DCI-P3 color gamut. It measures about 7.2mm in thickness and weighs 460g.

The Huawei MatePad Pro runs the EMUI 10. It comes with a new visual design and a split-screen multitasking feature.

The ‘computer mode’ on the tablet offers a desktop-like interface. You can also control your Huawei smartphone’s functions through a virtual window within the tablet.

The new tablet also supports M-Pencil for drawing/ sketching. It is charged when clipped onto the top of the MatePad Pro, magnetically. An hour of charge offers around 10 hours of continuous usage.

Additionally, the tablet features four Harman Kardon-tuned speakers (two on each side). It promises a 3D stereo sound.

Conclusion

The new tablet looks similar to the Apple iPad Pro, thanks to its rounded corners and slim bezels. Huawei plans to launch a 5G variant in Q1 2020.
