The Huawei Y9 (2018) features a 5.93-inch FullView display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor and 3GB RAM. The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB).

In terms of optics, the new smartphone features a dual camera setup on the front and back. The rear camera module combines a 13-megapixel primary sensor with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. It also features an LED flash. The dual cameras set up on the front uses a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor.

The new handset is backed by a 4000mAh battery.

The Huawei Y9 (2018) runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with EMUI 8.0 on top. It comes with standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The dual-SIM handset is only 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 170 gram. It comes in Black, Blue, and Gold colour options. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back.

Conclusion

At its expected price point, the new smartphone will compete with similar offerings from Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi. It is not clear whether the Huawei Y9 (2018) will make it to the Indian shores.
