6.1-Inch iPhone Cost

According to a 9to5Mac report, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the 6.1-inch model will have an LCD display. It will also allegedly sport an iPhone X-like design, with the ‘notch’. Kuo also stated that mass production has become difficult.

He suggested that the 2018 iPhone models will be ready ahead of their launch.

In terms of the pricing strategies, Kuo said that LCD display variant could be sold for $600-700.

iPhone X Plus And iPhone 9

Shared by 9to5Mac, a video posted by a tipster Shai Mizrachi shows the two models. There are cases on the dummy models from Skech.

The iPhone X Plus model’s physical size seems to be same as the iPhone 8 Plus model but has a larger display.

Meanwhile, the 6.1-inch iPhone 9, could be Apple’s entry-level variant.

2018 iPhone Models 3D Mockups

A video (shown above) showing the 3D mockups of the 2018 iPhone models has been leaked by Macotakara. They are based on the ‘final design’ schematics in the Asian supply chain.

9To5Mac Report

The information was revealed by 9To5Mac.

Kuo has revealed that information regarding the launch of the handsets and its pricing policy. According to Kuo, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone model will be sold for somewhere between $600 to $700. The 5.8-inch OLED model would be priced between $800 and $900. The 6.5-inch OLED model would be priced between $900 and $1000.

This is a sharp decrease in rates from last year. Kuo mentioned, “We expect the shipping times of components/EMS assembly for the 5.8-inch OLED, 6.5-inch OLED, and 6.1-inch LCD start from early June/early August, late June/lateAugust, and July/September, respectively. We believe Apple will announce 3 new models at the same time in September and 3 new models will be available in September. We, therefore, expect those iPhone shipments will grow significantly starting in 3Q18 and that the momentum will last until 2Q19”.

OLED Display Panels

The new iPhone OLED display panels report sent shares in Japan Display down by 10 percent. It was reported by South Korea’s Electronic Times.

Japan Display is one of the primary suppliers of iPhone LCD screens. The company has lagged its South Korean rivals in OLED production. Also, there has been a surge in shares of LG Display Co.

The report got this information from multiple unnamed industry sources. The company recently began planning new models. It planned on all of them to have organic light-emitting diode panels.

Apple hasn’t commented on it until now. It has been the same from Japan Display.

Other Developments

According to a Patently Apple report, Apple has filed for a patent with the European Patent Office. This hints that the company is working on a new design for MacBooks. The report states that the hinge designed will be reworked. These flexible hinges have been named “Living Hinge”. The new design for MacBooks will be processed “from a single rigid material”.

In light of the new design for MacBooks speculations, earlier reports had surfaced online that the company will be producing a new lighter version of MacBooks.

A 9to5Mac report had noted that the tech has been codenamed “Star”. It also apparently has a model name as N84. It is also the company first ever MacBook to run on an ARM processor. Apple MacBooks use Intel chips since 2006.

The Apple ‘Star’ device is probably in the middle of its early stages. It is being made by Pegatron. The company has worked with the tech giant on making some iOS gadgets as well. The company has already received a few testing units in its main office. It is being alleged that they have been in production since January 2018.
