The Micromax Bharat 5 is priced in India at Rs 5,555. It will be available in the country via offline retail stores. As part of launch offer, Vodafone users will get an additional 10GB of data a month for 5 months.

The new smartphone sports a 5.2-inch display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (unspecified) and 1GB DDR3 RAM. The 16GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 64GB).

On the camera front, the Micromax Bharat 5 sports a 5-megapixel rear cameras and a 5-megapixel front camera. Both cameras modules come with LED flash. The company claims that the 5000mAh battery on the device provides up to 2 days of battery life and a standby time of up to 3 weeks.

At its price point, the new handset will compete with the likes of recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 5A. The huge 5000mAh battery works in the favor of the new Micromax smartphone. The company is targetting the tier 3-4 cities with the new handset. The domestic firm company hopes to sell over 6 million Bharat Series smartphones by March 2018. It also plans to launch more smartphones in its Bharat series. The Bharat 5 Plus and Bharat 5 Pro will be launched in the next two months.
