Ahead Of Scheduled Launch, MIUI 10 Leaked In The Form Of Screenshots

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has revealed that along with its flagship Mi 8, it will also launch MIUI 10 during its scheduled 31st May 2018 event. Information regarding MIUI 10 was revealed in January 2018. This new MIUI version focuses more on AI and machine learning. Now leaked screenshots display that there have some changes in it (due to Android P).

MIUI 10 will replace MIUI 9. MIUI 9 was launched in July 2017. It came to India through MIUI Global ROM in November 2017.

Xiaomi has already stopped the MIUI 9 development. The company hasn’t yet stated which smartphone will be equipped with MIUI 10. But the Mi 8 is expected to have it.

MIUI 10

The screenshots were leaked by TechnoCodex. It seems that it will come with a new UI and features. There is a new floating window reminiscent of the Android P. It also has a new color design with a new blue and white design language.

A new shortcut option is also there which will provide a quick preview of used apps. A preview of the gallery is also seen with the most recent images.

It is expected to provide full-touch gesture controls. The volume bar has been placed to the right side with a silent option under the adjustment bar. A customization button is also there for a variety of options. The control nucleus has a new format, and widgets have been revamped.

Earlier Leak

MIUI 10 has had a teaser image posted on the official MIUI Weibo account recently. It is expected to be very fast. MIUI 9 was revealed with a tagline that it was “as fast as lightning.” MIUI 10 is predicted to have many performance enhancements. It is expected to deliver a better experience.

The company has already stated that MIUI 10 won’t be compatible with Android 5.0 Lolipop.

It is predicted to be packed with new themes and an enhanced Settings app. The AI within it and on the Camera app will also make the MIUI an advanced custom ROM for Android users.

The next MIUI is speculated to have new battery-saving features.

It is being speculated that the Company will launch its AI-backed Xiao Ai assistant globally.

MIUI 10 is expected to be equipped with a proper facial recognition feature. It could use 3D face sensing. It might also be similar to Apple’s Face ID (iPhone X).

Although Xiaomi is launching it on 31st May 2018, the version could take some time to reach all devices. Previously, the company has slowly introduced its new MIUI versions to old devices. But the MI 8 might just have it right away.

The Mi 8 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC. It is expected to be backed with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone is predicted to run Android Oreo on top of MIUI 10. It could also have an under-display fingerprint scanner.
