The new feature will allow Indian users to access the popular streaming platform in the Hindi language. However, it will be available across the world.
The new Hindi-language interface will join the option of 26 languages on Netflix – Bahasa Indonesia, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
The Hindi language is now available across all apps and devices (mobile, computers, and TV). This includes every part of Netflix – sign-up, title names, search, and payment.
How To Switch Netflix Interface To Hindi Language
- Open Netflix on your web browser
- Go to Manage Profiles > Language
- Choose Hindi
- That’s it!
Note: The language settings are profile-specific, won’t it affect other members on the same Netflix account.
Netflix arrived in India almost four and a half years ago. Most local-language Netflix originals have been in Hindi (Sacred Games, Delhi Crime, Choked, etc).
Netflix claims that the new feature will help to enhance the user experience of Hindi speaking people. It will also help family members who prefer Hindi.
“Delivering a great Netflix experience is as important to us as creating great content. We believe the new user interface will make Netflix even more accessible and better suit members who prefer Hindi,” said Monika Shergill, VP of content, Netflix India.
While Hindi is one of the most prominent languages in India, the company might be planning to add several other regional languages.
Netflix already offers Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu as the preferred choices for subtitles and dubbing. However, not all content is available with Indian-language subtitles or audio
