OnePlus 5 Soft Gold Variant

The OnePlus 5 comes in only two colour options – Midnight Black and Slate Gray. Now, users will soon get another option. After teasing the launch of a new colour variant, OnePlus has finally launched a Soft Gold variant of the flagship handset. The OnePlus 5 Limited Edition variant will be available on Amazon India and company’s own website from 12 am on Wednesday, August 9.

The OnePlus 5 Soft Gold colour is priced at Rs 32,999. The new colour option comes with only the 6GB RAM/ 64GB internal storage variant. It will not be available with the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage configuration. However, the company is now adding Slate Gray option to the 8GB variant (it was launched in Midnight Black option only at Rs 37,999).

Now, both OnePlus 5 models come in two colour options. The 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant comes in Slate Gray and Soft Gold, while the 8GB RAM/ 128GB variant will be available in Midnight Black and Slate Gray options.

The OnePlus 5 features metal unibody design with rounded edges and corners. Also, the antenna bands are less visible than its predecessors. The sleek looking handset resembles the iPhone 7 Plus. It measures 154.2 x 74.1 x 7.25mm and weighs 153g. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the home button. Apparently, it takes an average of 180 days to create and perfect a coating of Soft Gold.

OnePlus 5 Soft Gold Variant

In terms of specifications, it is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The new smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oxygen OS on top. On the camera front, the OnePlus 5 comes with a dual camera setup. It combines a 16MP wide-angle lens (f/1.7 aperture) with a 20MP telephoto one to produce images with better depth of field. The company claims that the new handset comes with better image stabilization feature too. It is backed by a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charging support.

The OnePlus 5 with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 32,999. The 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant costs Rs 37,999. While one can always get smartphone covers, it makes sense for such an expensive device to offer more than one color options.
