Finnish tech company Nokia has released it’s Nokia 8110 4G handset for sale. The mobile phone was revealed at MWC 2018. It succeeds the mythical Nokia 8110. It is currently being sold in Singapore by retailer Lazada at a price of SGD 98. In Indian currency, it is approximately Rs. 4,900. Now the handset is being teased to get WhatsApp support.
HMD Global chief product officer Juho Sarvikas said on Twitter, “Oh look, WhatsApp on KaiOS! Looking forward to going [banana]s!” This obviously means that WhatsApp will come for the handset.
Nokia 8110 4G is also available for pre-orders by Amazon in some European markets. Shipments started from 4th July 2018 onwards.
The handset supports 4G VoLTE. It is built on slide form-factor. It also runs Smart Feature OS. The OS provides access to apps like Google Search and Google Assistance etc.

The Traditional Black and Banana Yellow color options are being sold by Lazada. A 14-day return policy has also been offered. The handset has been listed on Amazon UK also, priced at GBP 78.56 (roughly Rs. 7,040). Pre-orders are also being taken in certain European markets. Details regarding the phone’s price and availability in India is yet unknown.
Nokia 8110 4G Specifications
The smartphone is dual-Micro+Nano SIM supported. It runs Kai OS-based Smart Feature OS. Nokia 8110 4G is built with a 2.45-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) display. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon 205 SoC. It clocks at 1.1GHz. The smartphone is backed with 512MB of LPDDR3 RAM.
In terms of optics, the handset sports a 2-megapixel rear camera sensor. It also has an LED flash.
In terms of storage, the handset has 4GB of internal storage.
The handset in the connectivity category, the phone supports 4G VoLTE with hotspot functionality, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In terms of power, it has a 1500mAh battery. It is expected to stay up to 9.32 hours of talk time on VoLTE and 25 days of standby time on LTE.
