Design:

Nokia Lumia 520 has a 4-inch display on the front and have a curved edge at the back. We got this Lumia in red color but it is available in few more options in the market. Lumia 520 due to its smooth edges comes fir in hand and is easy for single hand-use. Alike every other Lumia it has three capacitive touch buttons on the front below the screen, three controls on the left side which are power/standby button, volume rockr, and the dedicated camera key whereas the right being completely clean.

At the back it has the Nokia branding, 5MP camera and speaker grill at the bottom. You can watch the video below for more details.

Display:

Lumia 520 has a 480×800 pixels resolution also called as WVGA 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen 16 Million colors display. The viewing angles are also great we didn’t have any complaints from the display being honest.

Camera:

Camera on Lumia 520 shoots up to 5MP pictures and videos up to 720p@30fps. There is no secondary camera on the device neither there is a supportive LED flash but it is nothing to be blamed for. These things will eventually increase the cost and if you want these additional features, Nokia has Lumia 620 ready for you.

Hardware:

Lumia 520 packs the best of its specification for a sub 10k device. It features a Dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm processor with 512MB RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. It has 8GB of internal storage with support for external microSD card up to 64GB. It supports WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, and the other more common features like FM Radio, 3.5mm audio output jack etc. We have shot a video giving some more details on the same which can be viewed below.

Software:

Windows Phone 8 is definitely lagging behind Android and iOS in terms of applications and functionality. Microsoft and Nokia together are trying to pace the growth rate and the result clearly displayed. Though it has one of the most appealing UI and application database rising, Microsoft still needs to buckle up to reach higher.

Price:

Nokia Lumia is available roughly for Rs. 9000 on Flipkart and other leading retail portals. Nokia has also started a buyback scheme on Lumia 520 and Lumia 620 where customers can exchange their old smartphone for a new Nokia Lumia but they have to pay the price difference.

Conclusion:

Nokia Lumia 520 is definitely a smartphone to buy when you want something below 10k. It runs all the basic apps with support for WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth and is perfect match for Indian youth. This Lumai 520 has been the best seller Windows Phone till date and we expect Nokia to come up with similar budget handsets in future.
