The software experience is also largely similar. OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS 5.1.2 on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.

Differences:

Even while talking about OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T, you can also spot plenty of differences. The glass back and well-defined curves along the sides of OnePlus 6 has made it a more comfortable handset. The smartphone weighs 15g and has 0.45mm thickness. OnePlus 6 is also built with Gorilla Glass-encased back. The new handset’s display is a little larger, but not as tall as the OnePlus 5T. The extra 0.27-inch screen real estate facilitates a few extra lines of text when browsing.

The notch doesn’t interfere with the new phone’s ability to view video content, as media is letterboxed to fit to a 16:9 or 18:9 screen ratio. The new device also has a single speaker, but still beats out 5T in terms of loudness and well-defined clarity. In OnePlus 6, the alert slider has been shifted to the right side of the device. the SIM card slot has been moved to the left.

Unlike 5T, OnePlus 6 sports a new imaging sensor. It has larget 1.22μm pixels and OIS. In term of water and dust resistance, the OnePlus 6 is better.

Verdict:

With all honesty, there is no real winner between OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T. The 5T is still a terrific handset. If you don’t like the notch concept, the 5T has an added bonus then. In terms of sales, it got a lot of profit for the company.

So if you a 5T, then it doesn’t really make sense to buy the OnePlus 6, as an upgraded version will come out in upcoming months anyways.

If you don’t have the OnePlus 5T, then OnePlus 6 is a good option with its glass back and notch. Buy OnePlus 6 on Amazon India here.
