Oppo A7 Leaks Hint At Waterdrop Display Notch, 4,230mAh Battery

As per recent listing, the Oppo A7 will be launched in China on November 13. It is expected to come with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (approx Rs 16,900). As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

According to the new listing, the Oppo A7 sports a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ (720 x 1,520 pixels) resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 271ppi. It will be powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB/ 4GB RAM. The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a micro SD card (up to 256 GB).

In the camera department, the upcoming smartphone is tipped to feature a dual camera setup on the back. (13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture + 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture). The 16-megapixel front camera comes with f/2.0 aperture.

In terms of design, the premium looking handset will feature a bezel-less display. Connectivity options include dual 4G support, Wi-Fi 802.11 featuring Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, and Glonass. Additionally, the 4,230mAh battery is likely to come with the company’s VOOC charging support.

The Oppo A7 runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with ColorOS 5.2 on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The dual-SIM smartphone measures 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm and weighs 158g. It will come in Glaring Gold and Glaze Blue color options. New reports claim that the new smartphone will feature a waterdrop display notch. Sensors on the device include an E-Compass, Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, G-Sensor and Acceleration Sensor.

Conclusion

The Oppo A7 seems to be a decent mid-range smartphone. Highlights of the device seem to be camera setups and battery capacity. However, while it offers a spacious view, the display lacks a Full HD resolution. It is said to be a re-branded version of the Realme 2 (launched earlier this year). We will have to wait for an official announcement to be sure. 

Recently, the company launched the Oppo R15x in China at CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 26,400). The new handset is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor along with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is backed by a 3,500mAh battery.

In terms of optics, the Oppo R15x sports a dual camera setup on the back (vertically aligned). It comes with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor. The 25-megapixel front camera comes with AI enhancements, 800 detection modes, and intelligent beauty features.

The new smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with ColorOS 5.2 on top. The Oppo R15x sports a 6.4-inch display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340pixels) resolution, 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the new handset comes with a waterdrop style notch over the display and features a 3D glass back.
