The Realme 2 Pro is expected to be launched on September 27. The company has already started sending invites for the launch event. However, it did not reveal any details of the upcoming handset. It is expected to come with a much higher price tag than the Realme 2 (starts at Rs 8,990).

- 128GB ROM
- Android 8.1 Oreo OS
- 3.5mm headphone jack

The new model is likely to come with several upgrades over the Realme 2 smartphone. This includes a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor (the Realme 2 is powered by Snapdragon 450 SoC) along with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Previous leaks hinted at a 6GB RAM variant. We might also see improvements in the optics department (two larger sensors with a LED flash).
As per the new teasers, the Realme 2 Pro is likely to feature a larger display with a waterdrop-shaped notch. It seems to have thinner bezels and a slimmer chin than the Realme 2. Additionally, the upcoming handset might not take forward the diamond-cut effect at the back panel (similar to the Realme 1 and Realme 2). It is expected to come in a glossy back version and a matte back variant. There might be some new color options too (including Blue).
The Realme 2 Pro is likely to run Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box. Connectivity options include a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB port. Instead of an oval fingerprint sensor (seen on the Realme 2), a circular fingerprint sensor is placed on the back.
The Realme 2 is priced in India at Rs 8,990 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB internal storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model costs Rs 10,990. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor along with an Adreno 506 GPU. The internal storage can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB).
In terms of optics, the Realme 2 sports a dual rear camera setup (horizontally stacked) on the back. It uses a 13-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.2 aperture) and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture). The 8-megapixel front camera comes with fixed focus lens, f/2.2 aperture, and an 85-degree wide-angle lens.
The new handset sports a 6.2-inch in-cell display with HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, 88.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, and maximum brightness of 360 nits. It is backed by a 4,230mAh battery.
The dual-SIM smartphone runs ColorOS 5.1, based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, OTG support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Realme 2 measures 156.2 x 75.6 x 8.2mm and weighs 168 grams. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. Security options include face unlock feature and a fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted).
Recently, Realme separated from its parent company Oppo. It is now headed by Sky Li (credited with Oppo’s growth from just 3 markets to 31 countries/regions). He claims that the Realme brand is targeted at young people around the globe.
To recall, the Oppo Realme 1 sports a 6.0-inch display with full-HD+ resolution. It is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor and 3GB/ 4GB/ 6GB RAM. The optics are powered by a 13-megapixel rear camera. The 4G-enabled handset is backed by a 3,410mAh battery under the hood. The Realme 1 was launched at Rs 8,990 (for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant). While the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model costs Rs 10,990, the 6GB RAM/ 128GB model came with a price tag of Rs 13,990.
