The Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung’s second foldable phone. It features an Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) called an Infinity Flex display.

The 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display comes with full-HD (1080 x 2636 pixels) resolution, 21.9:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 425ppi.

Samsung is touting a new ‘Flex mode’ that will offer certain apps a different split-screen mode when the display is partially folded. Users can keep the Galaxy Z Flip open at multiple angles.

Additionally, the foldable phone (on the outside) sports a 1.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 112 x 300 pixels and a pixel density of 303ppi. It will show notifications.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is powered by a 2,9GHz octa-core processor along with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The 3,300mAh battery comes with fast charging support.

On the back, the foldable phone sports a dual-camera setup with a 12MP wide-angle lens (f/1.8 aperture, 1.4-micron pixels, 78-degree FoV) with a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.2, 1.12-micron pixels, 123-degree FoV, OIS).

For selfies and video calling, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip features a 10MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture, 1.22-micron pixels, and an 80-degree field of view(FoV).

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip runs the Android 10 operating system with a Flex mode UI (built in collaboration with Google). It is enabled by the ‘Hideaway Hinge’.

Samsung claims that the new hinge features ‘dual CAM mechanism’ and ‘sweeper’ tech ( made of nylon fibers to repel dirt and dust).

The Flex mode splits the display into ‘two 4-inch screens’. Samsung states that the users will be able to watch YouTube videos in the top half and read comments/ finding other videos in the bottom half.

A Multi-Active Window allows users to drag and drop apps onto different halves of the main display. Users will be able to use two apps at once.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, MST, GPS (A-GPS), and a USB Type-C port.

The dual-SIM (eSIM + nano-SIM) smartphone measures 87.4 x 73.6 x 17.33mm (167.3 x 73.6 x 7.2mm when unfolded) and weighs 183 grams.

A fingerprint sensor is placed on the side. Other sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

Additional features on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip include a mono speaker, HDR10+ video recording, Samsung Pay, Samsung Health, and Samsung Knox.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip was launched in India at Rs 1,15,999 It comes in Mirror Black, Mirror Purple, and Mirror Gold color options.

Now, the South Korean tech giant is offering the foldable handset with a price tag of 1,08,999. It is available to purchase on Amazon India, Samsung India site, and other offline major channels.

Alongside no-cost EMI option up to 18 months (through leading banks on Samsung India site), you can get an upgrade bonus of Rs 8,000 if you are upgrading from select smartphones.

Additionally, you can get a 5 percent discount on purchasing via HSBC card on Amazon India. Also, Prime Members can get 5 percent off by using Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit cards.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip was originally launched at $1,380 (approx Rs 98,400), with access to YouTube Premium.
