Lenovo Will Only Offer Stock Android Starting with Lenovo K8 Note

Future Lenovo smartphones will not ship with the company’s Vibe Pure UI Android customizations. The shift to stock Android will offer the latest and enhanced OS to its customers. While the Lenovo phones will come with some software enhancements, similar to Moto phones. The interface and bloatware will be replaced with stock Android experience. The stock Android offers a more refined, secure and stable environment with a familiar and easy to use interface. This also means that users will get more options for devices running stock Android across various price segments.

The Lenovo K8 Note will be the first Lenovo smartphone to ship with stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Customers will get a cleaner interface, smoother experience, and no excess bloat ware. Basically, everything expected from a premium device. The Android 7.1.1 comes with features like multi-window, launch actions, and improved bundled notifications. You can also access popular Google services, including Google Assistant. Lenovo claims that it will be now able to provide better support with efficient updates.

Lenovo K8 Note

The Lenovo K8 Note is expected to offer best of Lenovo hardware and Android OS. The company has been teasing the upcoming launch on its official Twitter handle for a while. Now, it has sent out invites for the launch event to be held on August 9. Lenovo has confirmed that the upcoming Lenovo K8 Note will be exclusively available on Amazon India.

As per a Geekbench (benchmarking website) listing, the Lenovo K8 Note is powered by a 1.39 GHz MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor and 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It is expected to sports a 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). Since the Lenovo Note series is known for huge battery life, the Lenovo K8 Note is expected to carry at least a 4,000mAh battery that lasts more than a day on a single charge.

However, the USP of the upcoming device is expected to be its dual camera setup. Recently, Lenovo shared various K8 Note camera samples on the company’s official Twitter handle to display its camera capabilities. Additionally, running stock Android means that the Lenovo K8 Note will get the Android O update when it’s made available by Google.
