In this segment, the Moto G5S has a slight advantage. While the Moto G5S is priced at 249 EUR (approx Rs 18,900), the Moto G5S Plus costs 299 EUR (approx Rs 22,700). There is no information about an Indian launch date and price as yet.

The Moto G5S Plus offers slightly better specs and features than the Moto G5S. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU and 3GB RAM. On the other hand, the Moto G5S comes with an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor.

Both handsets come with 32GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a hybrid microSD card slot. But the Moto G5S Plus also offers a 4GB RAM/ 64GB internal storage option. Both smartphones are backed by a 3000mAh battery that supports TurboPower charging technology.

Camera

On the camera front, the new Moto G5S sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. Whereas the Moto G5S Plus sports a dual camera set up (13-megapixel + 13-megapixel) with f/2.0 aperture, camera modes, and 4K video recording. While the Moto G5S features a 5-megapixel front camera comes with wide-angle lens and an LED flash. The Moto G5S Plus comes with an 8-megapixel front camera.

The Moto G5S Plus seems to have an upper hand on both ends. The dual camera shall allow you to get better depth of field. However, we will have to wait for actual results to see the difference between two devices.

Display and Design

While the Moto G5S sports a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution (1080p), the G5S Plus comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display. Both handsets feature an all-metal (anodized aluminum) body. A fingerprint scanner is embedded in the Home button. Both smartphones come in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold color options.

Both smartphones feature decent improvements compared to the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. However, the Moto G5S Plus looks the best on paper. It offers the bigger display, dual-rear cameras, and a faster processor than the G5S. However, if you don’t have too much cash to spare, the Moto G5S should do the job.
