Though this rom comes only installed on Nexus devices but its possible to install it on any Android device, the power of following open standards. Vanilla roms have some of the exclusive features which are hidden or removed on custom OEM layering like Sense and TouchWiz. But it is possible to install some of those exclusive features from the pure Android. Its easy and does not require any chance of damaging the device.

Karbonn Mobiles launched Karbonn A11+ the low end Android smartphone in India. Karbonn A11+ is a low-end smartphone aimed at providing users with Android experience at low pricing. With the big screens trending and being much in demand, Karbonn managed to include a 4.7-inch screen with a FWVGA display powered by 1 GHz processor which comes with dual SIM support. It has a 3.2-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Running on ICS Android 4.0 operating system it only supports EDGE data service where India is moving to 3G.

[How-to] Enable Lock Screen Widgets On TouchWiz

Samsung’s TouchWiz is a custom UI layering on the Android mobile operating system. The latest 4.2.2 update on some of the Galaxy devices have been started rolling out and some of the devices ship with 4.2.2 installed. Touchwiz no wonder is just a layering on Android but it still changes a lot of things which make it different from the vanilla rom which is released by Google.

Android 4.2.2 has a prominent feature of lock screen widgets which seem to be very useful for some users. TouchWiz does not enables this by default but instead we have to change it in the settings in order to activate lock screen widgets. Below are the steps to be followed to enable the lock screen widgets on Samsung TouchWiz.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Switch to ‘My Device’ tab
  3. Tap on the Lock Screen option
  4. Check Multiple Widgets

Now your lock screen widgets are activated and you can now swipe on the lock screen to change lock screen widgets. To add lock screen widgets swipe left on the lock screen and select more by tapping on the ‘+’ icon.

Samsung to launch Galaxy Note 3 on September 4th in Berlin

Samsung today on 5 August 2013 announced the Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2, the second iteration to the yearly Unpacked event. Early this year Samsung announced Galaxy S4 in New York City at the first unpacked event on March 14th and now for the first time holding another unpacked event in the same year for another big unveiling.

Samsung Unpacked events are generally for flagships announcements and after Galaxy S4, Samsung has the next Note waiting. Though there has been no clear news that what will be announced but it is expected for Note 3. The Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 is scheduled for September 4th just before IFA in Berlin itself. Samsung had launched the Note and the Note II in 2011 and 2012 IFAs respectively and Note III was expected at this IFA itself but it looks like they will give Note a separate launch event.

Summarising the rumors, Note 3 is expected to arrive with a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 13MP rear camera and Android 4.3 JellyBean OS. It is expected to pack the latest Exynos 5 Octa 5420 and Snapdragon 800 processor varying with region and 3GB of RAM. It is also expected to come with LTE advanced (LTE-A) support for selected markets.

The Samsung Unpacked 2013 event on 4th September, 2013 in Berlin, Germany at 7:00 PM CEST (10:30 PM IST) would be live streamed on Samsung’s YouTube channel probably.
