Thomson Launches Three Smart TV Models In India: Specifications, Price, Features

France-based consumers electronics company, Thomson, launched its smart television line-up in India, on Thursday – 12th April 2018. The launch is in partnership with Business France. The televisions will be manufactured by Noida-based SPPL (Super Plastronics Pvt. Ltd.).

The Thomson televisions are of three types, 43-inch 4K UHD HDR, 40-inch, and 32-inch. They will go on sale today – 13th April 2018 – exclusively through Flipkart. The flash sale will start at 12 PM Indian Standard Time.

The good aspect about this line-up is that they are affordably priced. This launch appears to set Thomson to compete with budget TV companies. Budget television companies include Micromax, Xiaomi, and Vu in India.

43-inch 4K UHD Thomson Television

The 43-inch 4K UHD Thomson television (model name 43TM4377) is built with an LG IPS panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and HDR support. It even speculates a 178-degree viewing angle. The television runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Cortex-A53 processor, with Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB RAM. The model also has an inbuilt storage of 8GB. The television sports two 10W speakers. The ports in the television include 1x RF input, 3x HDMI ports, 1x AV input,1x Component port, 2x USB ports, 1x RJ45 port, 1x SPDIF port, one SD card slot and a 1x 3.5mm headphone jack. The model has also been equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.

40-inch Thomson Television

The 40-inch smart TV (model name 40TM4099) has been priced by Thomson at Rs. 19,990. It is built with a Samsung LED-backlit panel with a full-HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The display also has a peak brightness of 450 nits. It is speculated to have a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The television runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The model is powered by a Cortex-A53 processor coupled with a Mali T720MP2 GPU and 1GB RAM. It is also equipped with an inbuilt storage of 8GB. The television features two 10W speakers, 1x AV input, 3x HDMI ports, 1x RF port, 2x USB ports, 1x Component port, 1x RJ45 port, 1x 3.5mm headphone jack, 1x SPDIF port, an SD card slot, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.

32-inch Thomson Television

The last one is the 32-inch Thomson smart TV (model name 32M3277). It was priced at Rs. 13,490. The model is equipped with a Samsung LED-backlit panel with an HD resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The display is also equipped with a peak brightness of 450 nits. The company claims it to have a 178-degree viewing angle. The television runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It is powered by a Cortex-A54 processor, with a Mali T720MP2 GPU and 1GB RAM. The television also has an inbuilt storage of 8GB. Its audio out is a total 20W. It has 1xRF input, 3xHDMI ports, 1x AV input, 1x Component port, 2x USB ports, 1x RJ45 port, 1x SPDIF port, 1x 3.5mm headphone jack, one SD card slot, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.
