Xiaomi Mi 9T Comes With 20MP Pop-Up Selfie Cam – Price, Specs, Features

At an event in Spain, Xiaomi has finally launched the Mi 9T smartphone. It is essentially a rebranded version of the Redmi K20 (recently launched in China). The company also unveiled the Mi Smart Band 4 (same as Mi Band 4), Mi Electric Scooter Pro, and Mi True Wireless Earphones. Price and Availability

Price (starting) EUR 329 (approx Rs 25,900)

The Xiaomi Mi 9T is priced in Spain at EUR 329 (approx Rs 25,900) for the 64GB variant. Sales begin on June 17 via Amazon and mi.com/es. The 128GB variant costs EUR 369 (costs Rs 29,000). It will available in the coming weeks.

The new handset comes in Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red color options. The Flame Red model will be released on a later date.

The Mi Smart Band 4, Mi Electric Scooter Pro, and Mi True Wireless Earphones are priced at EUR 34.99 (approx Rs 2,700), EUR 499 (approx Rs 39,200), and EUR 79.99 (approx Rs 6,300), respectively.

Specifications and Features

The new handset comes with similar specs and features as the Redmi K20. It also sports a 6.39-inch full-HD+ display with a unique flame design on its four-sided curved glass back.

The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC and 6GB RAM. The triple camera set up includes a 48MP Sony IMX582 primary sensor, an f/2.4 telephoto lens, and an f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a 20MP pop-up selfie camera on the device.

Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, 4,000mAh battery (with 18W fast charging support), 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Redmi K20 Pro

The Redmi K20 Pro is priced in China at CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 25,200) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. While the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model costs CNY 2,599 (approx Rs 26,200), the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variants comes at CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 28,200).

The high-end model with 8GB RAM/ 256GB internal storage variants comes with a price tag of CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 30,200).  It comes in Glacier Blue, Flame Red, and Carbon Fiber Black color options.

As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date. Recent reports suggested the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro might be launch in other regions with different as the Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro.

The premium handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 8GB RAM. The internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB). The 4,000mAh battery comes with 27W fast charging support.

In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 Pro sports an AI-powered triple rear camera setup on the back. It combines a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor (f/1.75 aperture) with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor (wide-angle lens) and an 8-megapixel tertiary sensor (f/2.4 aperture).

For selfies and video calling, the new smartphone sports a 20-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. It is the company’s first smartphones with a pop-up selfie camera. It runs Android 9 Pie operating system with MIUI 10 on top.

The dual-SIM smartphone sport a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 91.9 percent screen to body ratio. It features a 3D four-curved large arc body. Additional features include hardware DC dimming support and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
