The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to be priced around CNY 2,000 (approx Rs 20,300). As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

According to recent leaks and teasers, the Redmi Pro 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor. The 3,600mAh battery is said to come with support for 27W fast charging.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomin handset will sport a 48-megapixel camera sensor (as part of a triple camera setup – 48MP + 13MP + 16MP ). On the front, it will sport a 20-megapixel pop-up selfie camera at the top-left side (similar to Huawei Nova 4 and Galaxy A8s).

The upcoming device is expected to sport a 6.39-inch LCD display (manufactured by BOE, China) with full-HD+ resolution and a glass back. It will come in a Red color option. Additional highlights will include an in-display fingerprint sensor (similar to Mi MIX and Mi 8 series), an IR-blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Previously, it was expected to come with an octa-core (2 x 2.0GHz Cortex-A76 cores + 6 x 1.78GHz Cortex-A55 cores) Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor (based on the 11nm process and Kryo 460 CPUs), Adreno 612 GPU, and up to 10GB RAM.

Recently, Xiaomi decided to part ways with the ‘Redmi’ brand. It will serve as a separate sub-brand (similar to POCO). The new sub-brand will focus on bringing e-commerce friendly devices. Whereas the ‘Mi models’ will focus more on mid to high-end devices.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro was launched as the company’s first dual camera smartphone in 2016. It combines a 13-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.0 aperture) with a 5-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the handset sports a 5-megapixel front camera. It features a 5.5-inch OLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 2.5D curved glass.

The Redmi Pro is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 processor along with Mali-T880 GPU and 3GB/ 4GB RAM. The 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card. It is backed up by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
