The Asus Zenfone 6 is expected to be launched tonight in Valencia, Spain. The new teasers come with the tagline ‘Defy Ordinary’, hinting at the rumored dual-slider design (for dual front and back cameras) with a bezel-less display.

According to new reports, the upcoming Zenfone will be priced at TWD 19,990 (approx Rs 44,880) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB internal storage variant. While the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage model is tipped to cost TWD 23,990 (approx Rs 53,862), a 12GB RAM/ 512GB storage variant is saod to come at TWD 29,990 (approx Rs 67,333).

As of now, there is no information about the Indian launch date or price.

According to recent teasers and rumors, the Asus ZenFone 6 will sport a full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) bezel-less display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and notch-less design. It is expected to use a dual-slider design with dual (48MP + 13MP) front and rear cameras. The rear camera mechanism will reportedly lift up to take selfies as well.

The upcoming handset is tipped to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is likely to run Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box. Additional features might include a 3.5mm headphone jack and a smart key for Google Assistant.

Previous leaks had hinted that the upcoming device will sport an offset display notch (in the top-right corner) will overcome the requirement of the traditional notch design. We will have to wait for a final design for the upcoming handset. There could be two different variants of the ZenFone 6 (2019).

Recently, Asus launched two new ZenFone Max series smartphones in Brazil. While the ZenFone Max Shot features a triple camera setup, the ZenFone Max Plus M2 comes with dual rear cameras. Both handsets sport a 6.26-inch display with an iPhone-like notch.

The Asus ZenFone Max Shot is priced in Brazil at BRL 1,349 (approx Rs 25,800) for the base 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone Max Plus M2 costs BRL 1,299 (approx Rs 24,800) for the lone 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant.

The new ZenFone models are the world’s first smartphones to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon System in Package (SiP). It includes a 1.8GHz octa-core processor (14nm manufacturing process-based) and Adreno 506 GPU. Both handsets are backed by a 4,000mAh battery.

While the Asus ZenFone Max Shot sports a triple camera setup on the back (12-megapixel primary sensor + 8-megapixel secondary sensor + 5-megapixel tertiary sensor), the Asus ZenFone Max Plus M2 comes with a dual rear camera setup (12-megapixel sensor + 5-megapixel sensor).

For selfies and video calling, both handsets sport an 8-megapixel front camera, like the ZenFone Max Shot.
