Price  $399 (approx Rs 28,300)

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is priced at $399 (approx Rs 28,300) for the 32GB storage variant. The 64GB storage model comes with a price tag of $449 (approx Rs 31,900). It will be available in select markets (including Canada, France, Germany, UAE, UK, and the US) starting next month. As of now, there is no information about the Indian launch date and price.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with full-HD+ (1080 x 1620 pixels) resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio, 24-bit color depth, and pixel density of 434ppi. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and 4GB RAM. The 32GB/ 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB).

In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a dual camera setup (horizontally stacked) on the back. It combines a 13-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.2 aperture and PDAF) and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture). The 8-megapixel fixed focus front camera comes with LCD selfie flash and full-HD recording.

The handset is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with support for 18W Quick Charge 3.0.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. A ‘Convenience Key’ can be programmed to launch Google Assistant. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C with OTG.

In terms of design, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE features a QWERTY keyboard design. It measures 150.25 x 71.8 x 8.35mm and weighs 156 grams. The new handset comes in Atomic, Champagne, and Slate color options. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. A fingerprint sensor is embedded in the spacebar.

Conclusion

The new smartphone comes with a slower processor, less RAM, and lower battery capacity than the BlackBerry KEY2. While it looks the same as the regular KEY2, instead of glass it’s made of plastic. The new handset also lacks the capacitive touch scrolling feature.

The BlackBerry KEY2 sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution (1620 x 1080 pixels), 433ppi pixel density, and 3:2 aspect ratio. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor along with Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB RAM, and 64GB/ 128GB internal storage (expandable).

In terms of optics, the dual-camera smartphone combines a 12MP primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture, 1.14µm pixels, Dual-Pixel PDAF, and a 79.3-degree wide-angle lens) with a 12MP secondary sensor (f/2.6 aperture, 1.0µm pixels, and a 50-degree telephoto lens). The 3360mAh battery comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.
