Canon EOS-1D X Mark III With 5.5K RAW Video Recording Launched in India

Price Rs 5,75,995

The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III will cost Rs 5,75,995 (inclusive of all taxes). It will be available in the country mid-February onwards.

The flagship DSLR camera will ship with a 512GB CFExpress memory card and a compatible card reader.

In the US, the full-frame DSLR will be available in mid-February for a suggested price of $6,499 (approx Rs 4,67,300).

The flagship camera sports a 20.1MP full-frame CMOS sensor with a new ‘high-detail’ low-pass filter. It is powered by Digic X and Digic 8 image processors.

In live view mode, the Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF system offers 3,869 manually selectable AF points. When using the optical viewfinder, you get 191 AF points (155 cross-type AF points).

The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III uses AI ‘deep learning’ algorithms for the head, face, and eye-tracking. It allows 16fps burst shooting via the optical viewfinder (20fps burst photos with live view).

Canon claims that the camera can hold up to 1,000 images, including RAW and JPEGs. It can also shoot 12-bit, 5.5K RAW videos internally and oversampled 4K video at 60fps, in Canon Log with 10-bit 4:2:2 color sampling.

The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III comes with an improved ISO range of 100-1,02,400 (expandable to 50-8,19,200). It supports 10-bit stills in the HEIF image format.

The full-frame DSLR camera sports a dust and weather-sealed body. It measures 158 x 168 x 83 mm and weighs 1.4kg.

Additional features include built-in Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet port, Bluetooth and GPS. You can capture up to 2,850 shots per charge.

Canon claims that the new camera has been designed using extensive feedback from professional sports, photojournalists, wildlife and wedding photographers.

“We are confident that our latest offering will cater to the growing list of professional photographers in India and open up newer possibilities in the imaging space,” he added.

Apart from built-in 5.5K RAW video recording, new features include a brand new sensor, improved image processor, and more autofocus (AF) points.
